Rumours abound that Emre Can has already agreed a deal to join Juventus in the summer.

But, just in case he hasn’t, Sami Khedira has urged his club to do everything possible to sign his international colleague.

Can’s Liverpool deal runs out at the end of the season and he has so far refused to sign a new one at Anfield.

“I know Emre very well,” Khedira explained to Sky Italia.

“First of all Emre is a very good player. He is a young player, he can improve of course, he is powerful and is talented but of course he has to learn.

“And if there is a possibility that Juventus can sign this player you have to use this chance because I think he is a free agent in the summer period.

“So, if I am a manager, of course I would try and sign him.”

Khedira himself joined Juventus on a free transfer after his Real Madrid contract expired in 2015.

He has played an important role in the club’s recent success and despite speculation that he may leave Juventus in the summer, the 30-year-old seems pretty confident that Can can have a similar impact.

In fact, if Khedira does depart, Can, with his comparable energetic style, may be the perfect replacement.
