Southampton are interested in a summer move for Werder Bremen forward Milot Rashica, according to Weser Kurier.

The 23-year-old has had a fantastic season for his club despite their struggles in the Bundesliga, bagging seven goals in 18 appearances.

Saints boss Ralph Hasenhüttl is believed to be interested in raiding a league he used to reside in to boost his attacking options.

Bremen are currently second bottom and five points adrift of safety, and it’s reported that relegation would mean Rashica could leave for a cut-price fee.

The Kosovar international has a £17m release clause in his contract that would become active if the 2004 Bundesliga champions drop to the second-tier.

The left-winger joined Bremen in 2017 from Eredivisie club Vitesse Arnhem.

Rashica netted 15 goals and laid on 24 assists for his teammates during his time in the Netherlands, helping Vitesse win the Dutch Cup in 2016/17.
