Roger Martinez is expected to start in an attacking role for Club América in Sunday’s crucial Liguilla quarter-final second leg at Tigres.
América trail in the tie having lost Thursday’s opening battle 2-1 at home at the Azteca Stadium.
Giovani dos Santos was selected to play the number 10 role during the week, but the former Barcelona and Tottenham man failed to impress and was replaced by Martinez in the 69th minute.
América manager Miguel Herrera is expected to include Martinez from the off in the only change to his starting line-up.
Herrera will be able to call on the services of Nicolás Castillo from the bench.
The striker missed the first leg due to a leg injury sustained in the 5-0 win over Veracruz in the final Apertura game earlier this month.
Castillo has not recovered sufficiently to start the game, but has travelled with the squad and is set to be named among the substitutes for Las Águilas.
