Bayern Munich’s 3-2 win away at Paderborn on Saturday afternoon saw red hot striker Robert Lewandowski break a Bundesliga record.

The Poland international scored what proved to be the winner with a late strike at the Benteler-Arena.

It was that goal which put him into the history books too.

With that strike, Lewandowski became the first player ever in the German top flight to reach double figures after just six games of the season.

The goal also saw him become just the second player ever to find the net in each of his side’s opening six games of the season.

Another former Borussia Dortmund man, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, was the first to do it when he scored in each of BVB’s first eight games in 2015/16.

The fifth top scorer in Bundesliga history, Lewandowski can move into joint fourth place on that list if he finds the net against Hoffenheim next time out.

Jupp Heynckes, Klaus Fischer and Gerd Müller are the current top three.

He could have managed that against Paderborn too but somehow contributed a miss of the season contender when rolling wide of an open goal.

It turns out he’s human after all!
