Robert Lewandowski will sit down with Bayern Munich’s head honchos to discuss his future at the club when he returns to pre-season training next week.

After playing for Poland at the World Cup, Lewandowski is due to report back to Bayern’s Säbener Straße training base on 25 July.

According to SportBild, the striker feels he was treated unfairly following the Bundesliga champions’ elimination from the Champions League last season and wants confirmation that he still has the full support of the club’s hierarchy.

The 29-year-old scored 41 times in all competitions last season but was disappointing as Bayern were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid at the semi-final stage.

Lewandowski reportedly feels he was made a scapegoat by fans, pundits and even his team-mates for that defeat, and previous talk of a move to Madrid has almost completely disappeared as a result.

The former Borussia Dortmund man is under contract at the Allianz Arena until June 2021 and seems unlikely to be leaving the club this summer but he is said to feel undervalued by the fact the club have repeatedly told the media he won’t be going anywhere.

According to Transfermarkt, the Pole’s transfer value has dropped from €90m to €85m over the summer.
