Despite owning 70 per cent of possession in their Premier League opener against Wolves, Leicester City were unable to put one past Rui Patricio as the Foxes managed to put just one of their 16 shots on frame.
Ahead of Sunday’s clash against Europa League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Ricardo Pereira has called on his team-mates to improve in the attacking third.
“It’s always important to keep the clean sheet, we’re closer to winning if we do that,” Ricardo told LCFC TV.
“For us defenders, not only us but also the team, it’s important and it’s a good start.
“It was difficult to defend well with a block on and it was compact and difficult to get through.
“We had some difficulties; we had a lot of the ball, but we have to create more chances and it’s important to score and create opportunities for that.
“Of course, we wanted to start with a win here at King Power Stadium but if you can’t win then you can’t lose.
“We know there are no two games that are equal,” he added. “We know it’s going to be different [against Chelsea], this year it’s going to be tougher, but we’ll do our best and we know we have our chance.”
In last season’s trip to Stamford Bridge, the Foxes ran away 1-0 winners thanks to Jamie Vardy’s 51st-minute strike.
