Despite making his first-team debut with West Ham at age 16, Reece Oxford did not blossom into the player the Hammers expected him to be and he’s set to leave this summer.
According to Sky Sports, Augsburg will table a £3m bid for the 20-year-old after impressing with the club on loan.
“He certainly has the potential to become a big player,” Augsburg manager Martin Schmidt told kicker.
“He certainly has qualities, but he must not cost anything more than we can afford. It has to be in the budget.”
Oxford also spent time on loan at Reading and at Borussia Mönchengladbach.
The England youth international has not made a West Ham appearance since January 2018 and only featured 17 times for the club since stepping onto the pitch in 2015.
Oxford still has two years remaining on his current deal.
