Real Madrid are ready to smash the world transfer record this summer and launch a bid to sign Kylian Mbappé.
That’s according to France Football who say that Los Blancos are willing to offer €240m to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s goalscoring sensation.
Zinedine Zidane has made no secret of his desire to overhaul the squad at the end of the season as they look to bounce back from what has been their worst campaign in two decades.
Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba and Luka Jović have all been rumoured as potential targets, but France Football say that Zidane wants Mbappé to be their statement signing.
The World Cup winner cost PSG €180m two seasons ago, but has already gone some way to repaying that with a sensational goalscoring record in the French capital.
Mbappé netted 30 goals domestically this term, becoming the first French player to do so in over 30 years.
And that form has made Real Madrid ready to break the bank in order to land one of the most prized-assets in world football.
Whether PSG would be willing to sell the forward this summer remain to be seen, however they are under investigation by Uefa over historic Financial Fair Play allegations, and would require to sell before they themselves can splash the cash in a few months.
Madrid attempted to buy Mbappé back in 2017 when he was moving from Monaco, but the player decided to remain in his home country.
