The current 18-point gap between the sides would be the biggest end-of-season deficit ever between the teams, should it stay that way, according to a MARCA calculation.

Last season’s 17-point distance, along with the 1984/85 and 1995/96 gaps, currently holds the record for the largest gulf ever in a season between the teams.

Real Madrid end the season end the season with home games against Villarreal and Real Betis booking ending a trip to Real Sociedad.

Meanwhile, the Azulgrana, who are still fighting for the Champions League and Copa del Rey, take on Celta, Getafe and Eibar.
