Real Madrid have officially denied a rumour that the club has offered €310m for Neymar.

A report on Spanish TV station TVE – the national broadcaster in the country – on Monday evening suggested that Los Blancos had lodged an official bid for the Brazil international.

However, the club have taken the unusual step of formally denying the story by releasing an official statement.

“Given the information issued tonight by TVE of the supposed off from Real Madrid to PSG for Neymar, Real Madrid confirm that the information is false,” it read.

“Real Madrid has not made any kind of offer to PSG or to the player.

“Real Madrid is surprised that Spanish public television has been able to broadcast false information.”

Neymar is currently on duty with the Brazil national team at the World Cup but is believed to be interested in a move to Santiago Bernabèu.
