New Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui intends to include Dani Ceballos in his plans for the upcoming season.

According to Marca, Lopetegui knows the player well from working with him in the Spain Under 21 side and has rejected approaches from other clubs for the midfielder’s services.

Ceballos, who moved to the Bernabeu from Real Betis in 2017, made just 22 appearances under former manager Zinedine Zidane.

However, it seems his situation has improved and on Tuesday he tweeted a picture of himself playing for Madrid and said: “Eager to get this started and with the utmost enthusiasm for this new season full of great challenges.”

With Mateo Kovačić, currently on World Cup duty with Croatia, linked with a move away, it appears Ceballos will work his way up the pecking order.
