Brahim Díaz is edging ever closer to leaving Manchester City for Real Madrid.
Though City are determined to keep the 19-year-old midfielder, they have failed to convince him to extend his contract beyond the summer.
Since making his debut in September 2016, the former Málaga academy player has made just 13 appearances for City’s first team. Just five of those have been in the Premier League.
According to Marca, Real Madrid are in talks with the Premier League champions and could even sign the teenager this winter.
Madrid have been heavily linked with the Spaniard but were expected to sign him for free next year.
The report says the Spanish giants are now ready to pay €10m to finalise a deal next month. City, however, are hoping to secure a fee of around €20m.
Having already lost Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund last year, Manchester City are reluctant to give up another huge young talent. It seems, though, they’re now resigned to Díaz leaving.
Fellow teenager Phil Foden signed a contract extension with the Citizens last week, tying him to the club until 2024.
