Real Madrid eye up moves for Miralem Pjanić and Thiago Alcântara | OneFootball

Real Madrid have identified Miralem Pjanić and Thiago Alcântara as targets to offset a possible midfield exodus, according to AS.

Luka Modrić has been heavily linked with Inter and reportedly has a desire to leave for the San Siro while Mateo Kovačić has joined Chelsea on loan.

Having already allowed Cristiano Ronaldo to leave for Juventus, Real need reinforcements if they are to compete with the best in LaLiga and Europe.

Pjanić of Juventus and former Barcelona playmaker Thiago, now with Bayern, have been mooted as prime candidates to replace those leaving the Bernabeu.

Manager Julien Lopeteguin is an admirer of Thiago having worked with the midfielder and different levels of the Spain set-up while Real have admired ever since his days at Lyon.

However, while a deal could be done for Thiago with Bayern set to offload some midfielders from their squad, Real are less confident of prising Pjanić from the Italian giants.
