Marcus Rashford is reportedly stalling on signing a new Manchester United contract with Barcelona hovering.
The 21-year-old’s current deal – worth £75,000-per-week – expires at the end of next season with the option to extend for a further year.
According to Mail Sport, interest from Barça is ‘genuine’ but United are hopeful of tying Rashford down to a new £200,000-per-week deal.
The academy product and his representatives realise they are in a strong bargaining position due to the limited time left on his deal.
Alexis Sánchez also complicates contract proceedings at Old Trafford, with star players – including David de Gea – seeking wage parity with the Chilean.
Barça continue to search for a long-term replacement for Luis Suárez and are said to have identified Rashford as a signing that ‘ticks all the boxes’.
