Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has conceded that he may have to work on his temper.

The 22-year-old has been crucial to Steven Gerrard’s side this season but is currently suspended after seeing his fourth red card of the campaign.

Speaking to Colombian radio station Caracol, Morelos admitted he does lose his temper easily.

“I’m a little bit ill-tempered, especially when I’m on the park,” said the forward, per the Daily Record.

“Well, I think that everyone has their own opinion.

“Be it a fan, someone who knows a lot about football or someone who doesn’t.

“Someone who is passionate about the game and someone who isn’t but criticises it.

“I’ve received red cards that I’ve not deserved and that’s why they’ve been appealed.

“Others such as my team-mates, other players and even managers make mistakes.”

The striker has certainly built up a reputation with referees. As well as four red cards, he’s been booked on 13 occasions in all competitions this season.

And, though he hasn’t agreed with all those decisions, he does feel it could be time to change.

“If it’s time for me to improve temperament on the field, then the best thing for me is that I do so.”

Morelos was most recently sent off when Rangers faced Aberdeen last weekend and is banned for this weekend’s game against Hamilton Academical.
