To say Southampton have fallen below expectations this season would be an understatement, as the Saints have earned just one out of their last 21 points and are now in 19th place in the Premier League table.

Especially after the 9-0 Leicester rout, many supporters have called for manager Ralph Hasenhüttl to be sacked.

However, according to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Southampton reportedly have no plans to axe the manager anytime soon.

Following their fourth-consecutive home defeat over the weekend, a first since Southampton moved into St. Mary’s 18 years ago, Hasenhüttl would not allow himself to feel the pressure coming from the outside.

“In the moment it is not nice but this is also this job,” he said. “It’s not always nice, it’s not always winning games, it’s not always celebrating with the fans.

“It’s sometimes being out there and a little bit disappointment about what happened in the moment.

“But this is my job to hold the head up and try to find the right decisions.”

After Southampton face Arsenal following the international break, Saints supporters will demand the club earn points against fellow relegation-threatened sides Watford and Norwich City.
