Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl provided mixed news on Stuart Armstrong and Sofiane Boufal ahead of this weekend’s match against West Ham.
Armstrong has been absent from Southampton’s last three matches but will be available this weekend.
Meanwhile, Boufal will likely miss out as he continues to sit on the sidelines with a toe injury.
“The good thing is that Stuart Armstrong is back in training and trained with the team for the first time. He is looking good as an option for the weekend.
“Sofiane is still not able to train without an injection because he still has a big pain in his toe.
“This will take time. In the last games, we always tried to make him fit but it’s not a perfect situation if you don’t train during the week.
“We will have a look at how we improve this issue, and the rest, so far, are all fit.”
Hasenhüttl also explained why Yan Valery has only featured for 14 minutes in the last month.
“Yan Valery was out the last two weeks. He is out for longer, he has a virus, an infection which will take time.”
