Southampton are off to their worst start at home in the history of the club, having earned just one out of a possible 18 points at St. Mary’s so far this year.

Furthermore, the Saints are on a seven-match winless run that has condemned them to 19th place in the Premier League table.

With their last win coming against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane exactly two months ago, manager Ralph Hasenhüttl will take a win any way he can get one.

“I think it’s not a big topic that we didn’t win a game at home because the last games also away we didn’t win so we must take a good result.

“If it’s tight like against Man City and we still don’t get something then it means we are not good enough at the moment.

“Why we are not good enough is in the moment to find and I think we do a few things good but in a few things when we try this we are not good enough and that is the problem.”

Southampton will return after the international break with a match at Arsenal before hosting fellow relegation contenders Watford and Arsenal.
