RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick has reiterated that Timo Werner will be available at the right price this summer, but says the club are yet to receive a formal offer.
Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with a summer swoop for Werner, while reports over the weekend suggested Liverpool could also move for the German international striker in the coming weeks.
Werner’s current contract is due to expire in June 2020 and as things stand, Rangnick says the 23-year-old is not interested in signing an extension, meaning he must be sold this summer to avoid him leaving on a free transfer 12 months from now.
“Timo is of the opinion that he does not want to extend the contract, but so far, no club has made on offer, or come to an agreement with Timo,” Rangnick told Kicker.
“I’m still sporting director until June 30, and I’ll try to find a solution that’s meaningful for everyone.
“If I were his advisor or father, I would clearly advise him to stay and extend.”
Julian Nagelsmann will take over from Rangnick as Leipzig’s head coach this summer, and the sporting director also added that the former Hoffenheim boss can expect “three, at most four” new signings this summer.
