According to the Chronicle, Newcastle boss Rafa Benítez has been handed a written offer to extend his Magpies stay after losing just once in their last six matches.
Newcastle are now in 13th place on 35 points, seven points above the drop zone.
However, Newcastle fans may be a bit unsettled with his relaxed response to whether he’d be sitting down with managing director Lee Charnley.
“We have plenty of time, yes.”
The Chronicle reports that Rafa Benítez will begin negotiations once Newcastle are mathematically safe from relegation.
Newcastle are now on break until the beginning of next month, when they travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal.
