The third date of Liga MX started with a draw in Puebla as Santos were not able to overcome an early deficit.

After Santos hit the post twice in the first 13 minutes, Puebla scored an absolute golazo against the run of play.

In the 20th minute, Pablo González took the ball out of the air and smashed an impressive volley from outside the area to open the scoring.

However, Santos would find their equaliser just six minutes later, as Javier Correa scored on a very difficult header.

Julio Furch missed a penalty at the half-time whistle after a lengthy VAR, sending his shot over the bar.

The second half was much less eventful, and the two sides had to settle for a point apiece.

Through three matches, Santos are now on four points, while Puebla remain toward the bottom of the league on two points.

In the other match of the night, Monarcas defeated Veracruz 2-0 thanks to goals from Alberto Acosta and Miguel Sansores.
