It’s been widely known that the name of Edson Álvarez sounds strong in Holland.

Although Ajax seems to be ahead in the race to sign the 21-year-old talent, the truth is that PSV has not given up on capturing his signature and have even contemplated various scenarios to make it possible for him to arrive in the summer window.

According to the Telegraaf’s Erik van Haren, PSV remain firm on their stance that Álvarez would be the ideal replacement for Daniel Schwaab, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

However, the club would have to sell to several players before submitting an offer for the Mexican and are reportedly very willing to do so.

Looking ahead to next season, there are a number of names that PSV could sell in order to acquire the Mexican international and one of them is Álvarez’s compatriot, Hirving Lozano.

Lozano has been a star since his arrival from Pachuca in 2017 and he’s been on fire for PSV this season, scoring 17 goals and adding 11 assists in the Eredivisie – the exact same numbers he put up in the league last season.

PSV are behind Ajax solely on goal difference with two matches to play, as they pursue their second-straight title.
