With rumours swirling this summer about Neymar’s potential move away from Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain teammate Edinson Cavani showed compassion for the injured Brazilian international.
“I know it’s a difficult time for him, I wish him the best, and that everything goes well,” Cavani said at a press conference in Rio de Janeiro when questioned about Neymar’s current problems.
Neymar was a last-minute scratch for Tite’s Copa América side after the 27-year-old ruptured his ankle ligament during an international friendly versus Qatar earlier this month.
“I hope everything goes well, that he can recover as soon as possible, and that he can keep going and that he can leave what happened behind,” added Cavani.
Linked to a return to Barcelona where the Brazilian saw most of his success abroad, Cavani added that Neymar should “put the ball to the ground to think about what is happening and start looking for a solution”.
Neymar played in 28 matched for the Ligue 1 champions this past season, recording 23 goals and 13 assists.
