According to multiple reports, Qatari Sports Investments Group (QSI), who own Paris Saint-Germain, are interested in acquiring at least one additional team.

Corriere dello Sport reported on Thursday that QSI are interested in purchasing Serie A club Roma for a price of €400m, who reached the Champions League semi-finals last season.

Roma already have ties with Qatar. Prior to the first-leg semi-final against Liverpool, Roma and Qatar Airways agreed to a whopping €40m deal on a shirt sponsorship that will last until 2021.

However, Roma owner James Pallotta called the report ‘fake news’ on social media.

Le Parisien stated that QSI are also keeping tabs on English clubs with strong fan bases as an alternative option, with Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa & QPR used as examples in the report.
