Paris Saint-Germain could make a surprise swoop for Marseille defender Jordan Amavi this winter.

At least, that’s according to Paris United, who claim PSG sporting director Antero Henrique is growing frustrated with Layvin Kurzawa’s injury woes and wants to sign a new left-back.

Kurzawa is yet to make an appearance this season after he underwent surgery on a lumbar herniated disc back in September.

The 26-year-old was an unused substitute in the recent fixtures against Toulouse and Strasbourg but while PSG boss Thomas Tuchel reportedly feels the French international still has a future at the club, Henrique is less convinced.

Paris United claim Henrique feels Kurzawa has not made enough progress since taking over from Maxwell as the club’s main left-back, and he came close to leaving the club last summer with Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United all understood to have expressed an interest.

Les Parisiens signed Juan Bernat from Bayern Munich during that transfer window and now Henrique reportedly has his eye on Marseille’s Amavi.

The 24-year-old is said to be open to the move and a meeting has already been held with one of his representatives. However, PSG could face competition from a number of Spanish clubs for his signature.

Paris United conclude their report by saying that Amavi very nearly moved to the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2017, but former boss Unai Emery decided to sign Yuri Berchiche instead.
