Thiago Silva, his wife, and his children all became naturalised French citizens on Friday.

Having lived there since 2012, the 34-year-old PSG captain sees himself staying at the club for the foreseeable future.

Silva posted his latest achievement on social media.

By doing so, Silva has now given PSG an extra non-EU player slot, something that may help the club immensely in the summer window.

Currently, Neymar and Leandro Paredes are the only two non-EU players on PSG’s squad list, meaning that, according to Ligue 1 guidelines, PSG now have two open non-EU slots for the upcoming season.

Silva is under contract until summer 2020.
