There were only a few games to choose from, but boy did they keep us entertained.
Here’s what we took from the afternoon kick-offs …
Manchester City made more history on Saturday after becoming the quickest side to go five goals ahead in Premier League history.
It took just 18 minutes for them to complete the onslaught, with David Silva and Sergio Agüero – netting his 100th Etihad Stadium goal – both scoring in the opening six minutes.
A deflected Riyad Mahrez free-kick (’12), Bernardo Silva header (’15) and Nicolás Otamendi tap-in (’18) quickly compiled the misery for a shellshocked Watford.
Bernardo added a sixth and seventh (completing his hat-trick) after half-time, with De Bruyne slamming home to make it eight – completing 90 minutes of pure dominance.
Burnley brought Norwich back down to earth at Turf Moor thanks to a first-half double from Chris Wood.
Wood opened the scoring after 10 minutes after flicking a near post header past Tim Krul.
The New Zealand international then doubled his and Burnley’s account four minutes later, sweeping a lovely left-footed finish into the top corner.
Norwich head back to the drawing board after their incredible Manchester City win, while Burnley march on.
Sheffield United somehow escaped Goodison Park with a 2-0 win – despite having one shot on target all game.
The first-half was a drab affair, with Gylfi Sigurdsson twice shooting over and Moise Kean skewing wide from close range.
But it was the visitors who went ahead through Yerry Mina, who deflected the ball into his own net after Jordan Pickford flapped at a corner.
Everton pushed for an equaliser late on but were caught with a sucker punch, with Lys Mousset putting the result beyond doubt.
