📰 Story of the day

It was probably the day’s dullest game but the point Brighton earned at Wolves could be huge for their survival hopes.

It puts the Seagulls three points ahead of Cardiff (who host Liverpool on Sunday) with four games to go.

But they’re far from safe yet, given two of their last four fixtures are trips to Arsenal and Tottenham, with Manchester City to come at home on the final day.

Yikes.

🗣 Talking points

  • West Ham have changed the colour of carpet around the side of the London Stadium pitch from green to claret, and Michail Antonio (above) is a particularly big fan.
  • But Manuel Pellegrini will be turning a shade of claret himself tonight after his side were denied what appeared to be a perfectly legitimate goal from Lucas Pérez just moments before Leicester’s 92nd minute equaliser. VAR anyone?
  • Fulham managed back-to-back victories for the first time this season and their first away win of the season when Aleksandar Mitrović’s penalty earned them all three points away at Bournemouth. Shame they’re already relegated, really.

It wasn’t a day packed full for memorable goals, but Gerard Deulofeu’s first of two at the John Smith’s Stadium is one to keep an eye out for later.

The Watford man bamboozled Huddersfield’s defender with a clever drag-back before placing the ball in the far corner, cool as you like.

He also grabbed a second goal later in the game, taking his tally to six in his last five away games for the Hornets.
