Porto want Gustagol to reinforce their attack

After missing out of Fluminense’s star striker Pedro, Porto have begun negotiating with Corinthians’ top scorer Gustagol.

The 25-year-old recently signed a new deal that will keep him at Corinthians until 2022, but it’s believed that the striker could be available for R$35m (€8m).

However, Porto are doing whatever they can to acquire Gustagol at a cut-rate price.

Gustagol, who scored 14 goals in 28 games and helped Fortaleza earn promotion last season, is Corinthians’ top scorer with 10 goals in 27 games in 2019.

Despite his output, the forward has struggled to maintain match fitness and has been yet to win the battle with Vagner Love and Mauro Boselli to be the team’s number one option up top.
