Porto have made a sensational attempt to capture América stars Mateus Uribe and Agustín Marchesín before the summer window closes.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, Porto are willing to spend up to €18m ($20m) in order to acquire the services of the pair.
Marchesín is said to have been individually requested by manager Sérgio Conceição.
It appears América are keen to reject any offer for Marchesín, as he has four years remaining on his current deal and is arguably in the prime of his career.
However, with Uribe on the final year of his current deal, it could be advantageous for the Mexican giants to part ways with their midfielder before they lose him for nothing.
Manager Miguel Herrera admitted on Sunday that the Marchesín rumours took him by surprise, but América have a plan in place should Marchesín leave for Europe.
Porto are also rumoured to have been offered Kevin Trapp from PSG. Trapp spent last season on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he made 45 starts.
