The big man is back!

Just one day after his 38th birthday, Peter Crouch is expected to join Burnley as part of a deal which will see Sam Vokes moving in the opposite direction to Stoke City.

The Potters are reportedly willing to pay as much as £9m for Vokes but Clarets boss Sean Dyche was unwilling to let the 29-year-old leave without signing a replacement.

And it seems that replacement will be former Liverpool, Tottenham, Portsmouth and Southampton striker Crouch, who has scored 106 Premier League goals during his career and holds the record for the most headers in England’s top flight.

The former England international has, however, scored just once in 23 appearances in the Championship this season.

Vokes, meanwhile, has scored three times in 20 Premier League games for Burnley this term but after falling down the pecking order at Turf Moor, Stoke boss Nathan Jones will be hoping the Wales international can spearhead the club’s push for a play-off spot in the second half of the season.
