Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola remained relaxed despite his side dropping points at Wolves and insisted ‘nothing will change’ after three games.

The Premier League champions earned just a point with a 1-1 draw at Molineux while Liverpool, tipped by many to be their main challengers, maintained their 100% start by beating Brighton at Anfield.

However, Guardiola is remaining calm and admitted games against newly-promoted clubs are ‘tough’.

The Spaniard, who has won seven league titles in Spain, Germany and England, also believes points gained and lost early on shouldn’t have a massive bearing on the ‘long road’ ahead to May.

“We came to win the game like we did in the last month but we dropped two points or won one point and nothing will change after three Premier League games,” he told reporters. “It’s a long road and we have to continue in that way.

“I said in the previous press conference that, in my experience, they are tough games at the start against newly-promoted clubs.

“I prefer to play them in November or December when the season is more advanced because most days they don’t feel pressure against one of the contenders to win the Premier League.”
