Just seven years ago, Pedro and Frank Lampard were lining up in opposite sides in a Champions League semi-final.
A few years on, Pedro was signing for Chelsea just as Frank Lampard left English football.
And now, four years later, the former Chelsea midfielder is coaching the Spaniard.
Pedro featured in Lampard’s first game in charge this week – a 1-1 draw with Bohemians – and has since been speaking about what the new Chelsea boss wants from his team.
“We’ve been training really hard with Frank this week,” the Spaniard said.
“It’s very hard work, high intensity. We’re pressing a lot without the ball, when we’ve got the ball we have to move it quickly, and in transition (we have to be) very good.
“It’s very good to work under Frank. He’s a legend at this club.
“He’s a very good coach with very good ideas but it’s only five days working with him and for the future we have to prepare very well this month.”
Chelsea will head off to Japan next week but, before then, they face St Patrick’s in Ireland.
