Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Thiago Motta will miss the French League Cup final against Monaco after suffering a three-game suspension.

Motta was sent off against Angers on March 14 after intentionally stamping on the chest of veteran defender Romain Thomas.

The 35-year-old already missed last weekend’s league game against Nice, with the additional three-match suspension now ruling him out of the final in Bordeaux.

Motta’s contract at the Parc des Princes expires this summer and with his own actions ruling him out of such an important game, it’s unlikely his deal will be renewed.

There were also bans given out by the LFP for unsightly clashes that took place between Marseille and Lyon in Ligue 1 last weekend.

Marcelo and Anthony Lopes of Lyon and Adil Rami of Marseille were all reprimanded and will learn their fate on April 12.
