Palmeiras within touching distance of being crowned champions

It’s all come down to this in Brazil.

With three games of the season left, Wednesday evening could be when Palmeiras are crowned champions for only the 10th time in their history.

The Sao Paulo club face América-MG knowing that a win could be enough to lift the title, but they need results to go their way elsewhere.

If Flamengo in second and Internactional both draw or lose their respective games, then Luiz Felipe Scolari’s side will win the championship.

If both sides win however, then the league goes down to the penultimate weekend.

For Palmeiras though, it’s simple – win, and everything is in their hands.
