For those who didnât follow the BrasileirĂŁo in 2018, claining that the Palmeiras season was a soap opera would be a massive understatement.
After a 1-0 loss away to Fluminense in round 15, Palmeiras found themselves in seventh place, despite being the biggest spenders in the country.
Palmeiras promptly fired manager Roger Machado and brought in former Chelsea and Brazil boss Luiz Felipe Scolari for his third stint with the club.
Scolari had previously been with the Verdão from 1998 to 2000 and from 2010 to 2012.
Unexpectedly, Scolari went unbeaten in the league (a record 23 matches) the rest of the season and guided the VerdĂŁo to their 10th title â their second in three years either side of a second-placed finish in 2017.
In addition, Scolari navigated Palmeiras to both the Copa do Brasil and Copa Libertadores semi-finals, losing to Cruzeiro and Boca Juniors, respectively.
Itâs safe to say that the 7-1 defeat to Germany in the 2014 World Cup no longer follows him everywhere he goes.
Now, with Palmeiras switching their kit sponsor from adidas to Puma, theyâve begun their partnership by releasing an epic hype tape ahead of the 2019 seasonâŠand to show off their new kits of course.
