Ousmane Dembélé arrived two hours late to training on Sunday and was the subject of both public and private criticism from his coaches and team-mates.
According to a report from SPORT, Dembélé called his Barcelona team-mates together before Monday’s training session prior to their Champions League duel with Tottenham.
During a short and respectful speech, Dembélé reportedly said sorry and promised that it will not happen again.
According to Carles Aleña, the Barcelona players appreciated the apology and are willing to move on and leave his transgressions in the past.
Aleña told reporters after the match: “He apologised to the dressing room. We accepted it. He knows he’s done wrong.
“He’s a good kid, we’re with him until the end. We have to show him affection.”
After Dembélé was fined €200,000 by his club, nearly a week’s wages, the 21-year-old scored a golazo against Tottenham just seven minutes into the match, proving he’s still a world-class talent.
