RB Leipzig have ended reports that midfielder Naby Keïta could join Liverpool this month.
A transfer has already been arranged for him to move to Anfield in the summer.
However, Liverpool were eager to bring the deal forward after the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
Talks had reportedly gone on between the two clubs and Keïta was eager to make the move happen with half a season remaining.
There were suggestions that Liverpool could pay an extra £15m or so to make the deal happen this month.
Despite that, Leipzig have stood firm and Keïta will not be sold.
