Nuno ‘will not abandon any Wolves players’ after Braga defeat

Wolves boss Nuno believes, despite losing their Europa League opening match 1-0 at home against Braga, that his side got much better since dropping their 5-2 contest against Chelsea last Saturday.

Though Wolves have been very disappointing this season and have yet to win a Premier League contest, the Wolves gaffer won’t make any drastic changes just yet.

“We do not base our analysis on the result. We base it on the performance. I think we improved from the last performance.

“The result has an effect on expectations outside that we have to manage. This is where we have to work as a group, speak together and have dialogue because one thing I do not do is I do not abandon a player.

“We realise if they are not performing well, where can I find a solution to help him? And we go back again.

“That is what I do. The expectations outside are based on results. Ours is based on finding solutions, how we do things, getting along with the players, including showing the way and improving.

“It is about everybody: coaches, managers, staff and look through all the details that can help us in terms of recovering because this is what we did before and we did it well.

“We have to recover well, rest well, and prepare for the next game.”

Wolves will try to improve on their 19th-placed start to the season when they travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday.
