Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo appears to have opened the door on the possibility of striker Raúl Jiménez leaving the club during the January transfer window.

Speaking after the 0-0 Emirates FA Cup draw with Manchester United at Molineux, the Wolves boss didn’t take the opportunity to rule out the prospect of Jiménez leaving.

“The transfer window is open, so anything could happen. As managers, we have to be ready because anything could happen. But we are delighted to have Raúl here, we are delighted,” he told reporters.

“This is the right moment to show it. Now we have a good week to work and to make good decisions because we need to bring players who can help us and improve.”

Rumours had surfaced before the third round game between the sides that United are interested in making a bid for the Mexico international.

However, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to be drawn on the speculation.

“[He’s] another good player we’ve been linked with,” Solskjaer said.

“He came on and did well [but] I cannot comment on these situations.”

The Red Devils have been linked with a number of strikers in recent days after their supposed number one target Erling Braut Haaland opted to sign for Borussia Dortmund.
