Even Wolves players have been impressed with Raúl Jiménez’s seamless transition to Premier League life.

The Mexican has taken everything in his stride in his debut season in England, netting 16 goals in all competitions.

That convinced the club to break their transfer record last week in order to make his move from Benfica a permanent one.

Matt Doherty believes that was a wise decision and has been surprised with how quickly the striker settled at Molineux.

“He’s been absolutely fantastic and his stats probably speak for themselves,” the Irishman said, as quoted by the Express and Star.

“He has gotten goals and assists but it isn’t just about that, it is his performances in general.

“As a teammate, I’m delighted to see him commit his future to the club, I’m over the moon to have someone of his quality.

“He’s really just taken to it and not many can do that. People say it takes time to adapt.

“But he kicked on straight away with goals and hit the ground running.”

Both Doherty and Jiménez netted in Wolves’ FA Cup semi-final with Watford, but couldn’t prevent them succumbing to a 3-2 loss.
