Happy birthday to Jadon Sancho, who turns 20 on Wednesday!

That does, though, mean he no longer belongs to the best teenagers in world football.

Sandro Tonali

  1. Age: 19
  2. Club: Brescia

The man widely regarded as the next Andrea Pirlo, Tonali has impressed during his first Serie A season despite playing for bottom of the league Brescia.

Lining up at the base of the diamond (just as Pirlo did for so much of his career), the 19-year-old has risen to the challenge of playing in Italy’s top flight. He is always available to receive the ball, his passing range is good, he’s a strong dribbler and a tenacious defender.

Strongly linked with Juventus, the midfielder already has three Italy caps to his name.

VinĂcius JĂșnior

  1. Age: 19
  2. Club: Real Madrid

The 2019/20 season hasn’t gone too smoothly for Vinícius but he remains one of the most exciting talents around.

To play such an impressive debut campaign in 2018/19, while Madrid coped with the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo and went through three managers, speaks volumes. An electric dribbler, the Brazilian is the archetypal ‘bums off seats’ young winger.

While this season has been a struggle, he’s returned to form recently. Vinícius scored a Clásico opener early this month, becoming the youngest player to score in the fixture this century, and impressed on the big stage against Manchester City as well.

Eduardo Camavinga

  1. Age: 17
  2. Club: Stade Rennes

The future is already here, and it’s here in the form of Eduardo Camavinga. This kid could be the world’s best in his position for a very very long time.

At just 17, Camavinga has established himself as not just a regular but a crucial player at Rennes this season. An all-action midfielder, has has won the most tackles (107) of any Ligue 1 player this season and picked up just four yellow cards in the process.

A solid passer too, he won’t be at Rennes much longer.

Alphonso Davies

  1. Age: 19
  2. Club: Bayern Munich

When Davies joined Bayern as an exciting winger just last winter, few would’ve pictured him as one of Europe’s best wing-backs as soon as 2020. Yet here we are.

One of the quickest players around, Davies flies forward for the Bundesliga giants, using the most of his superb close control. Not only is he rapid, but he times his runs to perfection at both ends of the pitch, often streaking back to make a last-ditch block or tackle.

A teenager until November, he’s already become a key member of the Bayern Munich side.

Erling Haaland

  1. Age: 19
  2. Club: Borussia Dortmund

Sancho may not be a teenager anymore but there is still one Borussia Dortmund player on this list. What else is left to say about Erling Haaland? Yes, he is, somehow, still only 19.

Lightning quick, cool as ice in front of goal, one of the most intelligent penalty area strikers around (already) and an imposing figure. Across all competitions for RB Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has 40 goals in 33 appearances this season, including 10 in the Champions League.
