Manchester City centre-back Nicolás Otamendi has decided he wants to leave and return to Valencia this summer.
That is according to Valencia-based publication Super Deporte, who claim that is the defender’s priority in the coming weeks.
They report that Otamendi doesn’t want to listen to any other offers and is focused only on returning to Valencia.
He spent one season at the Mestalla in 2014/15 before pushing through a move to the Etihad Stadium.
It now appears he could do the opposite and although the report claims that a deal will be difficult, it is a possibility.
Los Che have contacted agent Jorge Mendes, who facilitated the 31-year-old’s move to England, about a potential LaLiga return.
Although Otamendi has three more years remaining on his current deal, he is no longer a certain starter under Pep Guardiola and is keen on regular playing time.
The fact that City are also on the lookout for another central defender, namely Leicester City’s Harry Maguire, has led the Argentine to consider his options.
Arsenal, Atlético Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all reportedly registered an interest in signing Otamendi.
But the defender only has eyes for Valencia and is determined to return to the Copa del Rey winners before the transfer window closes.
