Newcastle have a fantastic opportunity to pick up three points this weekend when they host basement-dwellers Huddersfield.

Martin Dubravka has played every minute between the sticks for the Magpies this season, and manager Rafa Benítez says that trend will continue.

“If you have to pick one player who can live with the pressure, it would be Martin Dubravka,” he said.

“The only thing is, he’s a keeper. He can be fine for 94 minutes and then, in 10 seconds, everything changes.

“Since his first game one year ago he has done well. I don’t need to create a debate, there is no debate.

“He is the keeper, number one, and he has my support, 100 per cent.”

Benítez remains confident in the Slovakian, who he says is a fantastic presence in the dressing room.

“He is someone when you see him training, when you see him talking with his team-mates, when you talk with him personally, you can see he is very mature and very focused.

“It is something that, as a manager, makes you calm and happy. He can make mistakes like everyone, but you can see with the way that he behaves, trains and talks that he is fine.”
