A number of Premier League clubs are interested in making a move for LaLiga centre-back Mohammed Salisu.
That’s according to Spanish outlet Diario De Valladolid, who report that Newcastle, Everton, Southampton and Norwich are all keeping tabs on Salisu, who plays for Real Valladolid.
The 20-year-old Ghanaian is considered one of the most promising young defenders in Spain and has started 13 games for Valladolid so far this season.
His current contract runs until 2022 but he reportedly has a release clause set at just £10.2m, which is said to be enticing clubs with the January transfer window rapidly approaching.
Newcastle could be in the market for a new defender in the New Year following an injury to Jamaal Lascelles, which Everton are crying out for a new centre-back to compete with Yerry Mina and Mason Holgate.
Southampton and Norwich, meanwhile, have the second worst and worst defensive records in the Premier League at the moment, meaning defensive reinforcements will surely be high on their agendas when the transfer window re-opens.
Salisu came through the youth ranks at Valladolid and this is his debut season for the club’s first-team.
In recent days he has also been linked with a January move to Manchester United.
