Lyon manager Bruno Genesio says Nabil Fekir has still not come to terms with the breakdown of his dream move to Liverpool.
Fekir looked all set to move to Anfield in a €65m switch earlier this summer and even posed for photos in a Liverpool shirt.
But the deal reportedly fell through when a medical examination raised concerns about the France international’s fitness.
The 25-year-old is yet to return to Ligue 1 action but ahead of Friday night’s clash with Strasbourg, Lyon boss Genesio has given an insight into his star man’s state of mind.
“It is never easy accepting this kind of situation, when you are very near to signing for a club where you want to go,” Genesio told reporters.
“Where you want to reach another level and to give a boost to your career.
“But as I said, it could have been worse for him. He is at Lyon, at a strong club, he is captain of a team who plays in the Champions League.”
