There were high hopes at Everton when Djibril Sidibé joined on a season-long loan from Monaco over the summer.

However, the World Cup-winning wing-back has been unable to dethrone Seamus Coleman from the starting job thus far, much to the chagrin of some Everton supporters.

Aside from his two EFL Cup starts, Sidibé has only been on the pitch for 31 Premier League minutes.

Now the 27-year-old may be on his way out earlier than expected.

According to Tuttosport, Milan are interested in buying Sidibé outright in January, which could tempt Monaco to cut his Goodison Park loan spell short.

After Ignazio Abate left Milan over the summer, Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti have both had their share of injury struggles, which could open the door for Sidibé to head to Italy.

Everton paid a €2.5m loan fee for Sidibé and currently have a €14m option-to-buy at the end of the season.
