It was a sight that no Liverpool fan ever wanted to see.
In the second half of the Reds’ Premier League clash with Newcastle on Saturday, Mohamed Salah collided mid-air with Magpies goalkeeper and the Egyptian landed awkwardly on the turf.
After being treated for several minutes by the club’s medical staff, Salah was stretchered off and replaced by Divock Origi.
The exact nature of the injury is not yet clear, but the 26-year-old appeared to take a blow to the head or neck and is therefore a major doubt for Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona and the final Premier League game of the season against Wolves.
