Here’s who we liked in week 29:

Goalkeeper

Tyler Miller (LAFC)

Miller made seven big saves to help LAFC earn a point in New England.

LAFC has had a spectacular debut season in large part to Miller’s efforts between the sticks.

He is currently tied for third in MLS with 101 saves, and tied for fourth in the league with eight clean sheets.

Defenders

Ike Opara (Sporting Kansas City)

Opara scored a goal and made a pair of key blocks in SKC’s dominant 5-1 win over San Jose.

Jonathan Mensah (Columbus Crew)

The two-time World Cup veteran led Columbus to a clean sheet behind a game-high 11 clearances.

Mensah was extremely efficient on the ball as well, passing at a 97.3 per cent rate.

Daniel Lovitz (Montreal Impact)

Lovitz made his impact all over the field for Montreal in their 4-1 win over Philadelphia.

He tallied an assist and made several fantastic tackles and interceptions to change the course of the match.

Midfielders

Gerso Fernandes (Sporting Kansas City)

Fernandes was unstoppable as he racked up two goals and two assists in SKC’s dominant 5-1 win over last-place San Jose Earthquakes.

Ignacio Piatti (Montreal Impact)

In a must-win contest, Piatti provided two assists to help Montreal come from behind and defeat Philadelphia 4-1.

Miguel Almirón (Atlanta United)

Almirón scored a brace and added an assist in Atlanta’s comfortable 3-0 win over Colorado Rapids.

Alberth Elis (Houston Dynamo)

The Honduran scored a goal and added an assist in Houston’s big 4-1 win over Portland Timbers.

Forwards

Bradley Wright-Phillips (New York Red Bulls)

BWP scored his fifth career MLS hat trick, which is tied for second-most in league history (Josef Martínez).

He now has 19 goals this season, second-most in MLS, also behind Martínez.

Michael de Leeuw (Chicago Fire)

The Dutch forward scored his first goal since coming back from an ACL tear he suffered last year.

de Leeuw also added a pair of assists in Chicago’s 4-0 win over Orlando City.

Raúl Ruidíaz (Seattle Sounders)

The Peruvian came up big when it mattered. In a virtual post-season match against Vancouver, Ruidíaz scored a brace to propel Seattle to a 2-1 victory.
