It’s a tired old cliché but there are some chances which are genuinely harder to miss than they are to score.
One of those came in England’s Championship on Saturday, when Brentford travelled to promotion-chasing Cardiff.
Bluebirds defender Sean Morrison was robbed of possession on the edge of his area and with the goalkeeper out of the picture, the responsibility of slotting the ball home fell to Neal Maupay.
Except rather than tapping into the almost-empty net, the former France youth international did this…
Even if you’re not a Bees fan, that makes for very painful viewing and to rub salt into the wounds, Cardiff won 2-0.
Sacré bleu Neal!
